I have been having frequent flashbacks of traumatic events from my childhood. I am reminded that God promises us at the end of Matthew in the bible that He will never leave us or abandon us. In tough times we can feel alone and confused about why the Lord allows suffering in our lives. Some of the Psalms describe King David's desperation, fear and even anger at God. But God always rescues him, even though he is a sinner with adultery and murder. God's faithfulness is not based on how 'good' we are, if we've prayed enough or read the bible enough or been to church. God forgives us the minute we ask for it and never reminds us of those past sins. Waiting for answers to prayer can seem endless but He will always come through, perhaps not in the way we think He will. We were given a guarantee of His love when Christ died on the cross. Don't ever stop reaching out to Him. He will lead you into peace.
