During this turbulent time, it is so easy to forget our blessings. God is still the God of all creation, and still sovereign, still in control, omniscient and omnipresent. We worry about the small things, and now when there are big things on the horizon, we need to focus on God. Yes, do the things you need to protect your family. Do the things that are responsible and reasonable to keep your community safe. But through it all, please keep God at the forefront of your thoughts. He is Jehovah Jireh- The Lord will Provide. Be cognizant of those around you. Are there elderly in your neighborhood who cannot get out. Offer to shop for them.
Are there those near you who struggle with having enough to feed their family, share from your abundance.
Stay in touch with those around you so that they don't feel quite so isolated. Call someone you haven't spoken to in a while.
Keep praying for those you love, and also for those who are hard to love. We are all in the same boat.
Pray for our healthcare workers, those on the front lines who are stressed beyond belief, and still have to show up for their jobs. It is not optional for them as long as they are healthy.
Pray for wisdom for our leaders in our communities, states and our Nation. We are all on a sharp learning curve with this situation. We will and have made mistakes, but we must all do the best we can going forward.
Do you have a specific need? Don't hesitate to reach out to someone. There should be no embarrassment if you are in need. There are others out there who are willing and able to help. My mantra has always been "If we are not here to help each other, what are we here for?"
How can I help you?
My daughter recently shared her blessing list with me, she does this daily. I am starting the same, just to remind myself that there are still many, many things to be grateful for.
We have been blessed to be a blessing. Let's be the hands and feet of Christ to others.
Submit your prayer request. Thousands of caring people will see it and pray for you.
